The thousand-petalled lotus at the crown — pure consciousness, holding neither object nor subject. When Kundalini Shakti rises to meet Shiva here, the seeker knows self-realization and samadhi. In esoteric Buddhism it is Mahasukha, the lotus of Great Bliss.
